Before you choose Intake
An intake changes sound and response first; the power gain depends on the engine, housing size, air temperature, and calibration. Choose the layout around how the car is driven, not whichever pipe looks biggest.
Sound and response first
Most drivers notice induction sound and throttle feel before a major power change. The result depends on the engine and the complete airflow path.
Temperature versus packaging
Cold-air routing can reduce heat exposure but adds length and water considerations. Short-ram routing is simpler but lives closer to engine-bay heat.
Check sensors and calibration
Match the exact chassis and engine, then confirm sensor housing size, filter location, water exposure, and whether the ECU needs calibration.
