MSD 82923 is a modified distributor cap and rotor kit that converts the listed Honda/Acura TEC-distributor applications to an external Blaster-series ignition coil.
Application and compatibility
For the TEC-distributor applications in MSD’s chart: 1992–1993 Integra; 1994–2001 Integra GS/LS/RS; 1990–1991 Accord; 1998–2002 Accord DX; 1993–1997 Civic del Sol; 1992–2000 Civic/Si excluding 1996–2000 HX; 1997–2001 CR-V; and 1992–2001 Prelude. Integra GS-R/Type R applications in the chart use 82933. The chart assigns 1988–1991 Civic/CRX to 82903.

- 14-gauge primary extension wire and insulated soldered joints
- Disconnect the battery, removing the negative cable first. Remove the stock internal ignition coil before fitting this modified cap; leaving it installed can damage the cap. Verify primary-wire polarity, extend the wiring to the external coil with 14-gauge wire, and insulate the soldered joints. Wire routing can require drilling the cap or modifying its rubber seal. Size and crimp the supplied coil wire using the included tool and the manufacturer’s instructions.
